“The Chaplain” Guitar

A friend of mine asked me to paint a custom guitar for him. Let me tell you, this is the first guitar I’ve ever painted and I was so nervous I was going to mess it up! This guitar was very important to him – he plays music at churches and works closing with the Army Chaplains. So, he asked for this metal electric guitar to be painted custom in Army green with painted lettering like old WWII jeeps. He has since sent it off to get all the fittings and strings, etc put on. If I ever get a picture of the completed guitar, I’ll edit this post to show it. But, below are the pictures I took.

I even went the extra mile and painted the case to match the new custom guitar!

Tank Art

For those that don’t know, both my husband and I work in the HVAC industry. That means I have access to a lot of empty refrigerant tanks. So, being the crafty person I am, I decided to paint them for the holidays to decorate my office with. So far, I have Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Christmas. We also had a competition of all the ladies that work in the office to see who could decorate the best one! Mine didn’t win (you’ll have to find our company facebook page so see the other entries, I only showed mine here.)

My competition entry. I found the vulture skeleton at Michaels. The hand is made from a skeleton hand I found and covered in clay to get it more zombie like and pale. Also used clay to make the “peeled back” look around the “hole” in the tank. Then of course other little items glued on and painted.
These are the Halloween collection! Frankenstein’s monster, a scary jack-o-lantern, and of course a ghost!

This is the Thanksgiving one – just a turkey. I might add more later, but so far, this is it for Thanksgiving.

These are the Christmas ones! A snowman, the grinch, and a pretty Merry Christmas sign.
